Hunger Games Challenge, Day 4 - A character you love that everyone else hates
I don’t think there’s any one character that the entire fandom - or even most of it - generally agrees to dislike. I guess Glimmer and Clove are close, because they’re ruthless bitches, but it’s actually kind of interesting to think of girls in a career tribute community. You’ve got to wonder, are the girls trained as well as the boys in their districts? Or does the community train the boys better because they just want the winner to come from their district, and they don’t want competition between the boy and girl, for fear of damaging their odds? And since boys are [generally] more likely to be physically capable of this kind of thing than girls are, it’d make sense to train the boy and leave the girl defenseless. Which is scary.
Hunger Games Challenge, Day 3 - A character you hate that everyone else loves
Probably Haymitch.
Okay, I don’t hate Haymitch. I just hate how his backstory was always hinted at, but we never actually learned anything particularly juicy.
Hunger Games Challenge, Day 2 - Your least favourite character
Oh…probably Gale. He’s just another Jacob Black-like character. The kind where it’s like, “Hey, I’ve been friends with you since we were kids. Do I get to bone you yet?” and then they pull the I’m-a-man-and-you’re-a-woman-so-let-me-take-charge card.
Yeah. That’s Gale.
More like FALE.
As in FAIL.
Like FAILURE.
Right?
Hunger Games Challenge, Day 1 - Your favourite character
Probably Peeta, if I’m being honest. I wish we’d gotten a bit more back story for him other than “he had this super cute crush on Katniss his whole life, he makes bread, and he paints stuff.”
But I’m a big fan of that romance formula where two kids get together and fall in love, and then something separates them, physically, so that one is fighting to get back to the other, and then there’s a happy reunion. Or, in Peeta’s case, a bit of Capitol brainwashing causing him to believe Katniss is NOT the love of his life, but in fact a horrible terrorist. Overcoming that…yeah, I think we can all relate.
What.
Anyway, I know Hunger Games isn’t a romance series, but it’s definitely a fun bit of it. Or maybe I’m just fourteen years old or something.
